FAQ’s

This is a chance for you to meet with Christi and/or Kirsten to talk about your situation, learn about Florida law and the process of family law cases, and have your questions answered.  We also give you information that you can take home to review and will hopefully help you in making decisions about your next steps.

Unfortunately, this is not something we can answer with certainty.  All legal matters can be expensive, especially when parties do not agree about property, children, or other issues that arise in family law disputes.  We charge a flat fee for our initial consult conferences, and will discuss with you then an initial retainer amount, be honest about projected costs, and advise how you may be able to keep costs low.  Unlike many law firms, Gray Law does not charge for paralegals, legal assistants, or copies.

Like all families, all family law cases are unique.  The average family law case takes from about 6 months to a year and a half.  If there are very few issues to settle, and the parties can negotiate easily, your case may finish very quickly.  However, difficult negotiations, or cases involving complex issues or finances can take much longer.  As the case begins, we can give you a better idea of how long it might take, and provide updates all along the way.
